The Prim Sessions with Alexkid

31 Jan

The Prim Sessionsw Alexkid

This Prim Sessions starred a pretty awesome guest……

From his roots in early nineties Parisian rave culture, this multi instrumentalist, composer, remix artist, DJ and sound engineer has set on a formidable trajectory since Laurent Garnier invited him to put out his debut single, ‘Playground’, in 1997. Alongside definitive producers like St.Germain and Mr.Oizo, Alexkid spent many years as a flagship artist for Garnier’s F Communications label, playing a pivotal role in sculpting the profile of French electronic music both at home and abroad while developing his own inimitable identity.
Refining his production skills over three critically lauded albums, Alexkid has mastered a kaleidoscopic range of styles from his early experiments with Drum and Bass, Nu Acid and Electro to the sparse House and Dub textures he is best known to weave today.

Alexkid is currently resident of Club Watergate in Berlin and also of the infamous Terrassa Sunday Parties held during the summer in Paris.
He also plays regularly in the best clubs around the world such as Panoramabar or the Rex Club to name a few…

Kirk’s NOICE podcast

27 Jan

my mate and close male escort friend Kirk Douglas made the 99th Podcast for NOICE this week and it is a little gem! get the shizz here:::::

About the Artist:
Based in Edinburgh but originally hailing from the North East of England, Kirk Douglas is steadily gaining a reputation as a credible DJ/ Producer. Starting off as most DJ’s do with a set of turntables, a few tunes and the will to get out there, he built up his collection from labels such as Subliminal, CR2 and Alphabet City. Kirk then broadend his musical horizons and developed a taste not jus for proper house music, but for everything Electronica from House to Techno hinging his tastes around, and picking up influence from the likes of Cocoon, Minus, Moon Harbour, Oslo, 8bit, Get Physical, and DJ’s such as Nick Curly, Johnny D, Marco Carola, Nima, Gorji, the list goes on.
After a year or so playing small underground nights in and around Edinburgh and Newcastle , he was getting recognised as someone who has passion for what he does. Derek Martin of the massive MUSIKA in Edinburgh offered him a residency which has seen Kirk support the likes of LUCIANO . MANDY , NIC FANCIULLI , ERIC PRYDZ, REBOOT plus many more.
This residency has helped drive Kirk’s love for the music and also took him in the direction of producing his own tracks, and as with DJ’n, he was hooked. Making music came naturally to him, over the course of a few years, and some hard work, he was making releasable tracks and was signed to Newcastle based label CITY WEST RECORDS. Now with DJ’s across the globe playing his tracks and re-edits, Kirk is continuing to build on his foundations by starting his own night SOULOCO at Edinburgh’s Caberet Voltaire. Recently featured in The Daily Record as one to watch for 2010, this year is promising to be a good one.

Lil’ Louis – The Story Continues (Kirk’s Kezzeled edit)

22 Jan

download removed but please mail requests or comment

So a friend of mine and a very good producer has done this edit of an excellent Lil Louis house track. taken from the ‘I Called you’ E.P. released just after the ‘Summer of Love’ in 1990…but still championed but those who know…..(dropped by Loco Dice last summer at Carl Cox’s Revolution night @Space, Ibiza)

The original is a bit awkward to mix but as it’s a great groove to play out with, Kirk has made it more ‘DJ friendly’…. uff i hate that term!

Kirk is a resident DJ with MUSIKA in Edinburgh, Scotland. He is no relation to the real Kirk Douglas the movie star either, but he does have releases forthcoming on City West Records….which i will no doubt be playing on the show….
